What is YLAA?

Youth Leadership Academy Australia is a youth-led,  innovative, multi-facilitate organisation specialising in enabling our future leaders to lead themselves, their schools and our communities to ensure a positive future for our nation. 

YLAA exists to provide young people across Australia with skills to live positive, fulfilling lives through leadership. The world is changing at an unprecedented pace YLAA aims to prepare young people with the confidence to thrive in technology-led worlds by equipping them with the skills of adaptability and creativity. 

YLAA is a social enterprise where 100% of profits fund youth suicide prevention programs across Australia through our impact partners. 

What is the Job?

For five years, YLAA has been expanding through Australia and now is the time that we need a person to join the organisation part-time to facilitate and design the programs that YLAA delivers online and in person. 

YLAA works with young people across four different pipelines:

  1. Large Scale Conferences and Events
  2. In-school tailor-made programmes
  3. Local Government Programs
  4. Online Learning Management System 

The program facilitator role will curate and facilitate programs in these four areas focusing on the content that is delivered, how it may be delivered and for facilitating it. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing the content to be delivered through all programs in alignment with the curriculum and outcomes required
  • Filming content in the studio for an online learning management system
  • Facilitate events and in-school / regional programs nationally

About You?

YLAA is looking for someone whose experience AND values align with our brand, and someone who meets the following criteria:

  • 2+ years in facilitation, working with young people and working in the education sector in a professional capacity 
  • Passionate about young people and the personal and professional development of our future generations
  • Exceptional communication skills over the phone and in person, being able to engage small to large audiences through a variety of facilitation techniques
  • Ability to deliver and receive feedback, understanding that leaders are learners
  • Extraordinarily flexiable and open to change - you will be required to work with young people that come from all backgrounds and walks of life
  • Understanding of the education and social enterprise industry (Preferred)

The Role?

The role is based out of our office in Sydney CBD, part-time, 24 hours per week. All YLAA employees are offered flexible working conditions, including in-person, remote and flexible hours. Whilst a Sydney-based employee would be preferred, management will consider other  

Salary: $28.00 to $32.00 + super for a part-time staff member, depending on experience. YLAA also welcomes facilitators who may wish for contractor or casual roles to contact wil@ylaaus.com directly

Start Date: Mid February, must be available for training 27th February to 28th March interstate.
