Kurt Jones, at just 20 years old, is an inspiring force in Australia’s environmental conservation scene. Growing up in a low socio-economic area, Kurt faced many challenges, including being expelled from multiple schools. However, his life took a positive turn when he was enrolled in a secondary school for disengaged youth. This experience helped him reconnect with society and discover his passion for nature and wildlife.
Kurt’s love for the outdoors led him to pursue various conservation roles. Determined to create change, he followed his dream of founding Co-Exist, a movement that engages young Australians in environmental conservation. Co-Exist has grown into one of the nation’s fastest-expanding conservation movements, bringing together hundreds of young people through initiatives like clean-ups and tree planting.
An engaging speaker, Kurt has the rare ability to inspire others, particularly young people, to follow their passions and make a difference. From his first speaking engagement at 13, addressing over 700 school leaders, to now speaking at major events and conferences nationwide, Kurt’s journey exemplifies resilience, passion, and leadership.
His achievements, including the 2024 Queensland Young Achiever Award, are a testament to his commitment to both the environment and empowering the next generation.
