Week 3 Submission Week has come and gone and once again we’ve loved seeing schools across Australia continue turning ideas into action through LeaderUp. Every submission reflects students identifying what matters most in their school communities and taking the first steps towards meaningful change.

This week, we’re spotlighting Rangebank Primary School in Victoria.

After reflecting on their feedback from the 48 Hour Challenge, students identified some focus areas and have brainstormed several project ideas for their school community, including improving signage around the school, safety concerns around running on concrete, student council initiatives, and reducing wastage through bin awareness.

What stood out most was the students willingness to look closely at everyday school experiences and think critically about how they could make their environment safer, more organised, and more supportive for everyone. These may seem like small issues individually, but together they shape the way students experience school each day.

We also loved seeing the project ideas from other schools. Projects ideas like a donation centre to support families in need, and idea that combines both wellbeing, sustainability, and service leadership. Other schools choosing to focus on more school clubs to promote inclusion. We’ve also seen ideas emerging around buddy clubs and peer connection initiatives.

What’s becoming more and more clear each week is that students care deeply about their communities. They’re identifying real challenges, thinking creatively, and stepping up to lead change in ways that are practical, thoughtful, and community-driven.

We can’t wait to see what the next round of submissions brings!

See you in week 5, when we are half way through the journey!
